I think it has to do, in part, with self deprecating humor which thrives in the UK, Ireland, and the Anglosphere. There was another thread that mentioned how this doesn't translate to other cultures where it is seen as "weak".

The question is very subjective, because what is considered humor in one country, in another country joker can easily be stabbed for this.
In my experience, Russians are very fond of English humor and completely do not understand German one.

How about American humor? It's not quite as dry as English humor but basically in the same vein. How does that translate?

This is very non-PC but I found it hilarious. Not sure whether this humour will crossover to other people.
