Plan Colombia: Cashing In on the Drug War Failure

A 20-year "war on drugs" in Colombia has been paid for by the U.S. taxpayers. Still more and more drugs and narco-dollars are entering the U.S. every year. Is it a mere failure by Washington? Or is it a smokescreen to secure Colombia's oil & natural resources?

Yap. So the entire war on drugs is one big goddamned costly failure. Even more so when it was the CIA that transported drugs like cocaine and heroin into the U.S.A back in the 1980s.

I read somewhere, maybe it was in a thread, that they were using Bush's oil platforms to transport the drugs in.

The Plan Colombia made sense a couple of decades ago, when the colombian cartels had the monopoly on drugs. Nowdays, since the drug business has shifted towards Mexico, the ideal thing to do would be relocate those resourses given to Colombia and put them in use in Mexico.
