Incorrect. Armenians are a 100% Eastern Anatolian people despite being now expelled from the region. Armenians are genetically closest to Turks and Assyrians. Armenians are very far from North Caucasians genetically. Where did you get this hilarious idea from? In fact Turks and Iranians are even much closer to North Caucasians than Ermenis. Phenotypically Armenians resemble also Anatolian Turks the most minus the East Asian imput which they have.

During Ottoman and Seljuk Empires there were many Armenians converted to Islam and become suddenly Turkish and Kurdish after the republican era. For example Hemshin people are Muslim Armenians of Northeastern Black Sea. Also, there was a member here called orangepulp she is a very strict muslim who learnt her Armenian ancestry by genetic tests. The Muslim Armenians are populated in Northeastern Anatolia (Rize, Erzurum, Bayburt, Gümüşhane).

In 1915, Armenians were killed by both Turkish and Kurdish soldiers. Also killed by Kurdish people (Hamidiye Alayları) in 1895 (300.000 Armenian killed) Afterwards when Russian Army captured Eastern Anatolia, Armenians were there for revenge however their population was less than Muslim Kurds and Turks. There are between 150.000-200.000 Hemshin Peoples live in several countries such as Russia, Armenia and Turkey. The Hemshin of Turkey are Muslims, they were converted to Islam in 18th century. Armenians were killed, not only in Eastern Anatolia but Central Anatolia and in the Black Sea Region. There are not Alevi Kurds descendants of Armenians. They were always Armenians in the places of Alevis (Alevis knew that who were Armenians around their villages), anyone who isn't born from Alevi parents can't convert to Alevi community. Many Armenians converted to Sunni Islam by the way, also Alevis helped Armenians during their death march and hid them from their murderers. I am proud of it.

Alevis and Armenians were both enemies of Ottoman Empire, so why they would convert to Alevism instead of Sunni Islam. The only way that Armenians could save their life was converting to Islam in 1915, some of them did, most of them didn't and dead in the death march.
