Default CEOs with wider faces perform better

Is Shape of CEO's Face a Measure of Power?
Width-height ratio has a bearing on company's performance, researchers claim
-- Robert PreidtMONDAY, Aug. 29 (HealthDay News) -- The width of a CEO's face may predict how well a company performs, according to a new study.

Researchers compared the photos of 55 male CEOs of Fortune 500 organizations with their companies' financial performance. The study included only men because previous research found that a link between face shape and behavior applies only to men.

The firms of CEOs with wider faces, relative to face height, performed much better than businesses led by CEOs with narrower faces, said Elaine M. Wong, of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and colleagues.

The study will be published in an upcoming issue of the journal Psychological Science.

Previous studies have shown that the ratio of face width to height is associated with aggression, the researchers noted. For example, hockey players with wider faces serve more penalties for fighting and men with wider faces are regarded as less trustworthy and they feel more powerful.

"Most of these are seen as negative things, but power can have some positive effects," Wong said in a journal news release.

She explained that people who feel powerful are better at staying on task and tend to look at the big picture instead of focusing on small details.

The same was said about that finger thing.
Ring finger longer than pointing finger = agressive, beats women, beats up people just for fun AND successfull CEOs. They also deal more successfull with stocks.

Somewhere it was claimed that a ringfinger that is longer than the pointing finger is an indicator for more testosteron.

I also somewhere read that females tend to narrower faces and longer skulls than males by default. Maybe testosteron levels have an effect on skullshape and face. And "Progressive" means nothing more than "effete"
    Bring back the stocks!

I doubt that, the most progressive people of all time were the most successful warriors of all time: the Corded Ware culture.

Also, narrow faces are overrepresented amongst special forces soldiers.
Progressive means disciplined, introverted, and a high level of social ethic.

This study does not bode well since it shows indeed that most CEOs are racially infantile/selfish and manipulative.

Also being narrow faced, that is more properly said having compressed zygomatic arches (The two might not have a complete overlap) is not the only trait to consider ofc..

True, but as you know, behavior is closely linked to the progressive-primitive-infantile schema. So its likely that wide faces correlate to either CEOs being primitive, or infantile in general. I'm guessing infantile - it fits what has been said of them, and also anecdotally the pictures of CEOs I've seen(Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, etc.)

There were 3 different studies which showed that bossy or domineering leaders were rejected as leaders. So I'm of the opinion that social dominance is not a factor in success, but in gaining power. Other studies that show otherwise may be a result of a learned change in persoonality. Perhaps their is a correlation to personality or an agreeable appearance.

Also, another study from 1926 showed that most great leaders studied were shown to be introverted. Also it showed most soldiers/fighters to be highly introverted.
