Sir david apologises for "racist" joke

Are 'we' now so scared of offending minorities that even a lame joke as said by Sir David Jason can classed as "racist" and "offensive"? Pathetic.

This really pisses me off. I can't see what's so offensive about it? Me hat, me coat (Mahatma Coat). If the `offended` population can't get used to British humour then it's not our problem - it's theirs. To laugh at oneself and to rib each other is part of British daily life, we always laugh at the English, Scots, Irish and Welsh for the sake of humour but it's what gives us our identity. I reckon he should have abstained from apologising and done a Carole Thatcher.

I would have gone for: Why doesn't Pakistan have a football team?
