Most Belgians are rather brown/chestnut haired though there are great individual variations.

One of the most typical phenotype in Flanders is the Keltic one, the lanky, aquiline nosed, brown haired phenotype. This phenotype is (mistakenly to me) popularly associated with the French, maybe because one of the most reknown frenchman of his time was Charles de Gaulle, who happened to be born in Lille and likely of Flemish ancesty.

Well, i'm not an expert, but when i think about a "typical" french type i can imagine someone like Dominique Strauss-Kahn or Sophie Marceau, even if i know there are many varieties in the whole france. The people in this thread look more like these types to me, than "typical" dutch...I say again, i'm not an expert, it's just my own impression.

Well, i'm not an expert, but when i think about a "typical" french type i can imagine someone like Dominique Strauss-Kahn or Sophie Marceau, even if i know there are many varieties in the whole france. Anyway, it is sad for France that Dominique Strauss-Kahn is associated with France and the French, because he is not at all French by ancestry (he is Ashkenazi jew), and he belongs to the international elite so he is very far away from the average Frenchman both by behaviour and by looks.

The last pictures are surely clearer, those types look probably average belgians. Of course they are not dutchs, but i meant "not very similar to dutchs". They're not very similar too most frenchs, too. But what about Sophie Marceau?? I think she's a typical, average french type...

Yes I would say she is quite typically French.

Between the North and South, the French have immense variation. Those in Normandy tend to look Germanic while those to the south tend to look more Med.

I know it, they are very different from north to south in both look and culture, anyway i often recognize a french when i see them, they often have some typical features (not always, of course). What about Vincent Cassel, for exemple? I think you could say he's french from a km. How would you classify Marceau and Cassel, then??!

Athena(Saint Seya) All Western European types are present in France, in varying proportions depending of locations, but Alpinid influences are visible everywhere. Except for the Mediterranean rim (but not that much) and Corsica, France is as a whole relatively homogeneous.

Most Frenchs are rather brown/chestnut haired with light eyes or light mixed eyes. Of course, you find a good number of swarthy individuals and dark eyes also.
