Don't know if most are fake blond. I'm not an expert on hair dyes.

Well you can start by looking at the hair roots and eyebrows.

Or go live somewhere with a high percentage of real blondes.
    Youll know.

not really, Livi didn't include light brown in the blondism category, we've already been over this, in fact the light brown shades are lumped into the brown label

as for blue/gray eyes french-americans have a 28% of it against a 31,4% of northern italians in Frassetto.

Likely dyed. She may well have some form of light hair, although not pale or bright blond.

I haven't read Livi directly but from various discussions it seems there are a lot of nuances in his work. Anyway, it's hardly important who has what percentage of light hair and eyes.

I have little faith in the writings of 19th century anthropologists. If you are interested in pigmentation studies there is a recent one by Jablonsky (2006?) that sampled the skin tones of about 15 European population groups. Also, some in-depth research may be coming out in the next two years from Harvard Medical and U. Michigan on European eye and hair color and skin tone. I suspect the conclusions reached will destroy many myths.

The map shows ALL SHADES OF BROWN hair (capelli castani di ogni tonalita') in Italy, not just light brown.
    Can you read Italian?
