Default Rank Hungary's neighbours from most to least phenotypically similar to it

    I think:
    1. Slovakia
    2. Croatia
    3. Slovenia
    4. Austria
    5. Serbia
    6. Ukraine
    7. Romania

I inspired by Tooting Carmen's thread about France.

Agreed but Romania is 5th and Ukraine is closer only if you count W. Ukraine.
    Just a 26.6% European individual

Slovaks would be closest IMO. Hard to distinguish from Hungarians in groups.

Austrians, Croats, Slovenians (in no particular order) - high overlap but different looking. Could be confused for Hungarians in groups sometimes.
Serbs and Romanians still decent overlap, but not hard to distinguish from Hungarians in groups.

Ukrainians least similar I think. They are easy to spot as foreign in groups (seen this IRL in Hungary)

You probably mean Matei Corvin - one of many kings Hungary had. He was of partial vlach origin, yes. He was born a to a hungarian mother and a vlach father. How shocking, when Hungary was a multiethnic kingdom with a vlach minority.
To my knowledge there's no evidence Matei Corvin identified himself as vlach.
Hungary had many other kings that weren't hungarian or fully hungarian by ancestry, so 'Matei Corvin the Romanian' wasn't an exception or anything.
