^ it doesn't really matter, PSD cannot create a larger alliance than PNL, so PNL will nominate the PM.

It's not good when any of the parties gets a free reign, particularly now that there won't be any elections in Romania for 4 more years - PNL needs to be kept in check just as any other party.
