    Default Stereotypes about your people/culture?

What are some common stereotypes about your country and people, and how close to the truth are they?

Norwegian people are often stereotyped as reserved, cold blond people who like to drink. I think all of this is close to the truth. Norwegians are quite reserved in general and love their personal space, and many Norwegians drink heavily during the weekends due to our strict alcohol policy, which effectively means that we can't afford drinking on a regular basis like in Italy and France. Also, blond people are common here, this is true, but of course it's not quite as common as some might think.

There is something about stereotypes ... They are like use conditions: know-how to treate " the product" ( "a stranger" , an individue of some sort ) ...
but it also gives a chance to see which things are comon for collective , as mentalitym and which are products of individual reasonable reproduction ...
    About my Serbs?
Well , as Freddy said : " Too much love will kill you !" And always with contra effect , O Gosh ...

I post stereotypes about Italians from Abruzzo.
They are believed to be a sort of introverted grizzlies, stubborns, they say of us "strong and polite" becouse we seem crusty at the beginning but when we enter in confidence we are warm, loyal and generous.

About the other Italians they say that:
    - Milaneses are workhaolic
    - Torineses are aristocrat and elegant
    - Genoeses are stingy and have a lot of banks
    - In Boulogne people are cheerful and like to eat
    - Tuscans are arrogant and swear like pigs
    - Romans are voulgar and metrosexual
    - Sardinians are introverted and stubborns like us from Abruzzo
    - Neapolitans are lazy, pizza, pasta, sun and mandolin
    - Sicilians are over-jelous of their women

Speaking for my region I think that the stereotype is pretty close to the truth, especially if are considered Abruzzesi living in small mountanios villages. Those who live on the coast have lost part of their introvert mood and usually are very open minded and modern.

People say that we aren't Slavic.... How so when we gave them an alphabet and our language has the biggest influence on the Russian language? Really interesting

I was once stood somewhere looking at the scenery as far away from the UK and well off the tourist trail.
Anyway some bundle of rags sidled upto me and said in English....."you are English are you not".....i replied in the affirmative and asked him how he knew and he replied...."you English are all the same.....you look at things like you own them....but dont want them".

Wether this is a common thought only other foreigners can say.

Sounds like you were not only describing Norwegians, but Finns and Swedes as well...

    Default Stereotypes about Polish

Very religious, somewhat racist, heavy drinking, principled, hard working people who don't put up with any nonsense at all, especially the women, the women are hawwwt and mostly are round face and obese like this woman:

All of this makes total sense. I had those distinct impressions when we visited Norway back in '99.

What is the alcohol policy there? This is new to me.
