I thought Virginia was still considered to be a solid conservative state? All my relatives from there most certainly are.

By and large.. it is! But the 3 northern most counties where all the Government workers and foreigners live have controlled and shifted the demographics in the elections. The native Virginians in "real " Virginia are more or less conservative. This was evident when 90 out of 95 counties became 2a sanctuaries.

Well, actually there is strong evidence he did win Virginia.
