    He'll be more likely to re-gain the weight if he does not keep as much muscle as possible thru resistance training. But I agree, calorie deficit is #1, without that there is no weight loss.

    If he doesn't count calories he will regain it even if he has a decent amount of muscle mass.
    It's easy to lose weight with our without lifting weight, it depends on what he wants to do with his body. I think he simply wants to lose weight and doesn't care for muscle.

    Have you ever done blood work? It could be something like insulin resistance or some other kind of endocrine issue.

    Being in a constant calorie deficit > trying to gain muscle and lose weight at the same time (which is not really possible in the long run).


    He has mostly fat lol. He is like 40 percent bodyfat Mortimer is pushing into 45+.

    Richmond bread does have a more robust endomorph frame but if he lost all his fat he would look like a twig

    You can build muscle in a deficit if you are fat because your body takes the extra calories it needs from your fat.

    At this weight your metabolism is already fucked up to begin with. Not to mention he is probably on antipsychotic medication, but idk this currently.

    He can lose weight, and keep it off without lifting weights yes. And weight lifting is not everybody's passion, I get that. My point was that it (weight lifting) could serve him very well in this process.

    I am at most 35% body fat and I carry it all over instead of just in my belly , which may not look good either but it's not as unhealthy as abdominal fat.

    Only make one great meal a day, at noon, while only having fruits for breakfast and dinner. Eating heavily at night is what prevents you from shedding weight as most as you should, methinks.

    You body doesn't know when it's day or night, he can eat whenever he want's. It's just how much calories you eat, no more no less.
    You can basically stir fry vegetables for whole day and you can eat that 6 times per day, rather then eating it in one run.
