The backpack I use for my laptop,
I listen to pretty much everything, preferably without a lot of lyrics unless it's some alpha rap.
Used to listen to a lot of punk younger but I can't anymore, I laugh. From Pastorius to Globus to random Hans Zimmer theme to 2pac and beyond...

Since you are Amerifrog, here is some exclusive French indie for you.
I used to play the song to annoy my parents who wanted me to be Francophone because my maternal grandfather hailed from some bankid Marseille family albeit he turned broke and an alcoholic after WW2 and died in his 50s. It was also the trend of the era that European cars are better than Japanese ones and since it would be unconventional for us to buy Kraut, we bought Citroen. Needless to say, it took less than 5 years for them to lie in the trash. I should ask Centurion for reparations.
Long story short, it was hard for my Grecobalkan lips to pronounce "le chocolat" so I used to "Dance to the shit they play on the radio:".
Nowadays, I would rather listen to frog bands paying tribute to Balkan shepherds.

It's not new stuff, but I think any self respecting Indie thread should have Rilo Kiley and also anything by lead singer Jenny Lewis probably qualifies as well. If you have a good subwoofer, Better Son/Daughter has some massive bass in the second half of the song.

It's an Indie cliché, but I like Vampire Weekend regardless.
