Ironically, there are aggressive members in the Topic who are labelled as "intelligent".

But, obviously being intelligent doesnt means necessarily less "violent".

It depends on if you think being aggressive is acceptable. Intelligence, one could say, has to do with being able to control one's cognition; one's thoughts just like impulse control. Now, sometimes a person can have a mental illness or similar, so they associate bad memories with a topic and then find it acceptable to be more aggressive etc., and I can forgive such an action, because I don't really know what that person goes through.

What you're implying is that it would mean these intelligent persons find it acceptable to be aggressive in various topics of discussion (as it occurs frequently).
That would really depend on what you want to get out of having a discussion with other people. Do you want to just voice your opinion (and perhaps anger) or do you want to get other perspectives on the issue?
(obviously things like killing innocent people don't really need much of opinions from others, because it's wrong)

I personally find a civilized discussion much more productive than having constant attacks. The latter usually just puts people in a defensive mode, which obviously is unproductive for an open discussion.

They say that now but the point I'm getting at is you need to understand your environment. You can't walk into a forum and expect people to be pleasant. You'll get all types of characters.

I suppose there is a point to what you're saying, but I expect people to be civilized, otherwise I would think they were sub-humans, and that's one of the last things I want to think about someone.

I mean, there are humans who are illiterate, and should we just accept that, or should we set higher standards for them so that they develop as humans beings?

I'm not too well acquainted with most members on this forum but there are a few who strike me as intelligent posters with the rest being average-level to downright dimwits.
