Generally speaking, the ex-pats you find in Mexico are retired old gringos that live in certain enclaves in Mexico. Their favorite spots: San Miguel de Allende, Los Cabos, Lago de Chapala, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun.

The fact that a lot of these refugees are getting denied asylum status in the U.S. is a problem since many of them decide to stay in Mexico. We already have a bunch of poor people to deal with, we don't need more.
