I've uploaded DNA data from 23andMe, MyHeritage, and FTDNA to sequencing.com but I wish that they would get their sh*t together and use the best courier service.

I mean seriously, taking 2 long months for the DNA kit to get here?

I ordered the Premium DNA test from GenePlanet on the 5th of Jan and the parcel was swiftly transported via DHL Express. Arrived yesterday, 11th Jan.

Dear Vik,

We have taken another look at your submitted Y profile (generated by FTDNA and others) in view of your additional information that the other companies' E1b1b classification is doubtful.

By comparing STR profiles we can estimate which classification is reasonable. An E1b1b classification is possible, but a slightly more likely possibility is a classification as C5a-P92 (which in ISOGG 2017 nomenclature is C1b1a1a-P92).

This reclassification does not affect the geographic results that we have already presented to you.

For a confirmation of the Y-type we would need you to order a Y test and send us a saliva sample, which you mentioned you are already considering. My view remains however that the extra expense would provide only a marginal gain of information.

Dear Vik,

Further to my email just now, it appears to me FTDNA have reconstructed a theoretical human reference sequence (RSRS), and then provide a list of net differences between your mtDNA, their theoretical sequence and the real-life Cambridge reference sequence. How clunky.

In view of this complication, could you please press their button "download fasta file" and email me the fasta file? This should be conclusive.
