    Default % indigenous by country

Native Americans by country in mainland Latin America (without the Carribean):

If you disagree with any of the data from the table - please comment and post.

Country Total population % Native Native population
    Bolivia 11,428,245 62.0% 7,085,512
    Guatemala 17,263,239 43.5% 7,509,509
    Peru 34,294,231 26.7% 9,156,560
    Mexico 126,014,024 21.5% 27,093,015
    Panama 4,379,039 12.3% 538,622
    Belize 419,199 11.3% 47,369
    Chile 17,574,003 11.1% 1,950,714
    Guyana 747,884 10.5% 78,528
    Honduras 9,587,522 7.9% 757,414
    Ecuador 17,715,822 7.0% 1,240,108
    Nicaragua 6,486,201 6.0% 389,172
    Colombia 50,372,424 4.4% 2,216,387
    FR Guiana 294,071 4.2% 12,351
    Suriname 575,990 3.8% 21,888
    Venezuela 28,887,118 2.8% 808,839
    Costa Rica 5,094,118 2.5% 127,353
    Argentina 45,605,826 2.4% 1,094,540
    Uruguay 3,518,552 2.4% 84,445
    Paraguay 7,359,000 1.8% 132,462
    Brazil 210,147,125 0.5% 1,050,736
    El Salvador 6,830,000 0.2% 13,660
    TOTAL 604,593,633 10.2% 61,409,184

I'm adding also data for the USA and Canada:

Country Total population % Native Native population
    Greenland 56,081 89.5% 50,193
    Canada 38,436,447 3.15% 1,210,748
    United States 329,994,010 1.13% 3,727,135
    TOTAL 368,486,538 1.4% 4,988,076

For Canada, I excluded the Metis (because they are like Mestizos in Latin America).

For the USA I counted only "Native alone" (not "in combination with another race").

Total population of the USA is without Hawaii - which is not part of the Americas.

I mostly agree, what catches my attention is Uruguay, I don't think it's 2.4%

Here are my sources for Uruguay:

Cuadro 1. Uruguay: Distribución de la población según la ascendencia étnico-racial. Ańo 2011
    https://web.archive.org/web/20140209...ouruguayos.pdf

    And - https://www.pursuantmedia.com/2019/0...arrua-extinct/

"How many indigenous people are in Uruguay?

According to the National Institute of Statistics, the results of the 2011 Census establish that a 5% of the Uruguayan population acknowledges indigenous ancestry, what is equivalent to 159.319 people, and a 2.4% considered indigenous ancestry as their main ancestry, what is equivalent to 76.472 people."

    ^^^
But maybe they are for example Bolivian immigrants in Uruguay (or children of Bolivian immigrants, etc.)?

    =====

BTW in Guatemala and in Peru the actual numbers should not be higher, what do you think?

Are Native Guatemalans really outnumbered by Mestizos?

I don’t understand what they are taking as “amerindians” since in Uruguay they virtually DON’T EXIST TODAY….

It's true, I didn't notice Ecuador, it should be somewhat higher, and Peru would also say it should be higher, but not 96% man

Seems accurate with Mexico! But If you add Indomestizos less of 30% Euro could be easily up to 30%

Peru Guatemala and Ecuador should be higher I don't know exactly how much but definitely more.
