OK my bad. I just thought the father was ethnically German, given his name and the fact he was born in Germany. My other examples still stand, however.

At first I also believed he was part German due to his surname, however I was also thinking "he looks fully black, how could he be part german?".

The funny thing is I don't think that the Black population in Germany is that large even now - most non-Euro immigrants in Germany are from the Middle East, and certainly Germany has nothing like the Black populations found in Britain, France, Belgium, Netherlands or even Portugal (well Lisbon).
