Yes, they are somewhat related, but I usually remove some references when they are related with other neighbouring ethnicities to avoid overlapping when I make the averaged references.

on some calculators I seem to have a pull towards Tajiks/Iranics, I was initially thinking of Gypsy, but it would have pulled South Asian and other MENA stuff, as they come mixed with MENA a lot, and I have zero MENA on 23andme and zero South Asian as well, but I do have some Manchurian and Mongol (trace, 1%, but meaningful since 23andme is very conservative about it, so it points it could be above what they show).

so it's just strange until I test my mom. I've already told her and now I wait to be able to hide the money away from my wife to do it, for both parents.

if there's anything, in this region it can only be either Gypsy either Tatar, for Oriental mix (same as for Western mix it can only be German in this region), these were the populations holding exotic genes, both from NW and further E.

The reference that could show an hypothetycal gypsy ancestry in this model, is "South Asia" as you said, and you don´t score any in this model.

Central Asian or Turkic in your region of Europe people (at least in your Hungarian neighbours) use to point to those "Hun conquerors" admixture. Could be that?
