Apperently Russia has lunched a counter offensive in Kharkiv region. This time there are actual Russian infantry and special forces on the ground, as well as Chechen forces (who were very upset with Ukraine taking back most of Kharkiv).

Seems like Russia has directed the pro Russian Telegram channels not to provide any intel/ information on this new operation, atleast not for the moment. There's no accurate information coming out of our sources. All we know is they have started re-taking some villages in that region.

Also and finally we are not sure what is the purpose of this new counter offensive , if it's a territorial gain offensive, a pin down, or some new unknown strategy by Russia..

There's info that Kupyansk is already in the grey zone after Russian attacks and Ukrainan forces leave it. We will know soon for sure. Most of Shaheed destroyed targets come from Kharkov region.

I think it's a good idea (for russia) to send prisonner.
The problem is, they did it too late. It's now obvious that the situation is desesperate and thoses guys would just be use as just canon fodder. Russia should have start this program 4 months before when they stop the first phase of the war. Recruit the guys, give them soome formation, teach them some notions to show them they are just not meat.

Here, they are just throw into the battle 3 days after signing the contract. Most of them know that they are use as cannon fodder and they have 0 motivation to fight. They won't have any impact on the battlefield.
Ukrainian already captures some of them. One of them tell in a interview, he accept the wagner deal only to get out of jail and planified not only to surrender as soon as he can but also to join the russian legion who fight on the ukrainian side.
