France - more romantic and lively.

@Teutone: even taking into account the recent mass immigration from the Middle East, judging by the public life of both France and Germany - politics, sport, business etc. - Germany is still the less ethnically diverse of the two.

Even without the abominable immigration France got, it's still the worst country in Europe (IMO). I'm not a huge fan of Germany either, but I'm 1/4 German, can (barely) speak the language, part of my family lives there and for good or bad I know the country and its customs. So, diesmal soll ich Deutschland sagen.

I'm biased since I grew up in France, so it's not objective

I appreciate the classical "good German stereotypes" : discipline, engineering, high dedication to make quality products, organized society; I don't speak German though so I can't assess the quality of the intellectual-political-philosophical scene, which is a big factor for me

It has been the land of Kant, Hegel, Nietzsche, Heidegger, who were pure genius of understanding life and reality (philosophers); I have infinite admiration and respect for them, but I don't know if nowadays it is still the case, from an outsider perspective, I don't know if it is because of barrier language or real absence, but I don't know any influential German intellectual

People, often from the Anglo world, are inclined towards praising pragmatism over intellectualism, which is exactly the opposite for me, and is one (objective?) main reason I love France, it's the high worth for intellectualism, the quality of the intellectual scene, the art of "conversation", of debating; that I don't see in the Anglo world (my point of comparison since I understand English, so I can spot these differences easily)

For instance, a Jordan Peterson or a Noam Chomsky, who are considered as "great intellectuals" in the Anglo world; are conceptually very average compared to French thinkers. I can find you 50 more powerful personalities, with a deeper intellectual level personalities.

Serbia and ex-YU countries have good thinkers and political commentators too though, and I am sure Russians too; they are more intellectual nations than the Anglo world

Besides intellectual scene, France has a better overall lifestyle : being the perfect balance between North and South Europe in the West (like Serbia in the East), it has economical infrastructure (less than Nordic countries, but better than Southern Europe) while having a laid-back, more romantic quality of life (better than autistic-robotic-cold North; but less passionate-drama-irrational than Southern Europe)

Edit: And poor hygiene too. I've heard from everybody that taking the subway in Paris is a nightmare.

I think both countries are very pretty, but I am inclined towards France, its just more familiar. Maybe when I visit Germany that will change.

I loved Bavaria and felt somewhat comfortable amongst Germans.
Yet I think I would choose France but this would be a close one, I like both.

I choose France of course, I love France

I also like Germany, in fact I was in Berlin. I love those castles in Germany

My father and brother say they choose Germany.

In fact my father worked 7 years in Frankfourt and is in love with Germany, he even speaks some German and he was about to take us all to Frankfourt but my mother said no. The German state pays him a monthly pension.
