São Paulo received many immigrants from Central Italy, probably even more than Northern Italians, that must be the reason why she clusters with SP, most Southern Italians settled near to the city of São Paulo meanwhile the rural area received many people from Tuscany and Lazio.

I didn't know that. I thought SP's Italic was mainly Northern Italy >>>> Southern Italy (mainly in the capital, a bunch heavily involved in anarchist/socialism movements) and with a small minority of Central Italians.

many people from tuscany(toscana) settled in SP, also from Abruzzo/Molise too, a famous paulista with Molisan origins would be Rivellino.

What we can conclude from that data is that, compared to Espirito's and Southern region's more homogenously Northern Italian stock, SP's Italics were more diverse when it comes to their regions of origin in Italy itself, there was a Northern (Venetian) predominance, but also many Meridionales (like Campanians) and Central (like Tuscans) ones.

It's funny that when many people discuss the contrast between Italian immigration to the US VS Brazil, they treat both like being very homogenous when it comes to the Italian regions they originate from, just switching the regions from the opposite one.

It is said most Italian-Americans have roots from Southern Italy/Sicily, in contrast with Brazil's pred Northern stock.

And while not a wrong assertion, it gives the impression that Brazil received few Terrones, when it's not true.

It's the USA that received few Italian imput outside Northern Italy, not Brazil having received few Southern Italian immigrants.

SP's Italian ancestry is very Northern and Southern, like Aegentina's, not like Espirito Santo and Southern region with it's more homogenous Northern Italic stock.

I think there are many Southern Italians in the rural area of São Paulo too, and Central/Southern Italians too(from Abruzzo), most paulistas i know from the "interior" have Southern Italian origin too.
