I see, that's bad. Btw, prostitution is legal in Hungary too and Budapest is one of leading porn producing cities in Europe.
Hungarian society is very nationalist, but not really conservative.
They have liberal nationalist traditions since Lajos Kossuth, which was in line with French Revolution.

Hungarian opposition leader Peter Marki-Zay has said if he wins the election, he would “probably” rescind the 2018 law criminalising lawyers and activists who help asylum seekers.

Nationalism itself is arguably a conservative concept because in the past nationalism was more of a social norm than nowadays. Religion and abortion are not hot topics here like in Poland. Hungary is conservative in some ways, in other ways it's not. Overall it is certainly more conservative than western Europe for good or and for ill.

Well, nationalists were considered modern/progressive in 19th century, idea that language bonds people more than social class or religion was rather new. Conservatives back than preferred old feudal society/empires where ethnicity didn't matter much.
Back than, nationalists wanted to abolish feudalism and absolute monarchies and create ethnic based parliamentary republics and free serfs.
Nationalism united people via common origin/language, and that was modern concept than.
But yes, today nationalism is indeed conservative idea, to preserve nation states against globalism.
