That's what i was wondering, initially i had the impression you sounded more like an American speaking French. The difference is you don't have that "too soft" prononciation of English people. Im not sure if it's because you are better than the random English in the street or something else.

When we were members of the EU, the language surveys claimed around 20% of British people can speak at least intermediate-level French. If anything, it is actually more commonly known among older middle-class people than younger people.
