USA/Israel and allies
Ahmadinejad repeatedly talks about the coming of the 12th imam, a Muslim messianic figure whose “reappearance” will make Islam victorious over the entire world.
He begins every public speech — including his yearly address to the United Nations — with a prayer that his actions will “hasten the return” of the 12th imam.
Difficult question. I despise Israeli policies (and the blind support they receive from the US), but I don't like the Iranian theocracy either.
In an exclusive interview with RT, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad pointed out that the 21st century is about knowledge, while nukes are the means of the past. Iran's view on the "Arab Spring" and its relations with other countries has also been discussed.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is asked by MSNBC anchor Brian Williams to clarify his statements about the Holocaust. (September 2006)

But he was.nor is he currently in power,
Western interests. What are these Western interests? The maintenance of the global capitalist system? US hegemony? Protecting the expansionist state of Israel?nor is Britain being a nuclear power a threat to Western interests, unlike Iran.
Ahmadinejad is in a major power struggle with the Mullahs. He definitely has some secular views. He supported women attending football(soccer) games along with men. He was overruled by the Ayatollah. Compare Ahmadinejad to America's close ally, Saudi Arabia, and their religious leaders. Where women were forced to burn to death because they didn't cover themselves before evacuation. Women cannot even drive. Compared to the Saudis, he's a moderate. His main crime is being anti-Israel and denying the state religion of Israel, Western Europe and America; Holocaustism.
He does hold mystical beliefs, which worries the more conservative clerics of Iran.
