Culture and tradition evolves too, fortunately.
Culture and tradition might evolves but it might not be in a good way. I feel when you abandon religion, you also start to lost connection to culture, land and the need to fight for your country. So I feel abandoning religious belief, will make Europe easier to be invaded by Muslims and Africans.

    Very interesting, Oszkar.

I remember you said your wife is Armenian.
Did you baptise in Armenian church?

There are some dogmatic differences between Eastern Orthodox (main religion in Serbia, Greece, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus) and Oriental Orthodox churches (Armenian, Assyrian, Coptic and Ethiopian).

I heard about that few years ago. Before that, I thought they are same Orthodox as we here.

Yes, we married in a small Orthodox Armenian Church in Vienna.
Priest would only proceed with doing Marriage ceremony if I was baptised in Church first.
I hadnt been baptised before that so I was happy to be Baptised in a Christian Church.
The Armenians are the first nation to adopt Christianity as a nation. So this is a very old and traditional Christian Church.

The Armenian Apostolic Church it is one of the most ancient Christian institutions. The Kingdom of Armenia was the first state to adopt Christianity as its official religion under the rule of King Tiridates III of the Arsacid dynasty in the early 4th century. According to tradition, the church originated in the missions of Apostles Bartholomew and Thaddeus of Edessa in the 1st century. St. Gregory the Illuminator was the first official primate of the church.

Me: confirmed Catholic, but don't consider myself one. Didn't go to a Catholic school and wasn't raised in that culture.
Parents: Raised Catholic, but Catholic in name only basically as adults. Father has been atheist since young, but kept up appearances for years
Paternal Grandparents: Catholic. A great x3 grandfather was Anglican of planter descent but converted to Catholicism
Maternal Grandparents: Grandfather was Catholic somehow, but his parents/grandparents were Church of England. Grandmother was Church of England but converted to Catholicism after marriage.
    Spoiler!

Me: None. (I've a world view, but nothing supernatural.)

If you chose to believe something that you don't know and can't support scientifically, that's not agnosticism.

Quote from the respective Wikipedia article: "The English biologist Thomas Henry Huxley coined the word agnostic in 1869, and said "It simply means that a man shall not say he knows or believes that which he has no scientific grounds for professing to know or believe.""

OK, I thought 'agnostic' means that you don't believe in any of the stablished traditional religions.

No, it means "uncertain about the existence of God", as opposed to atheist which means "definitely does not believe in God".

'God' is a concept very old fashioned.

Gods were Zeus or Mars, do you beleive in them?
