    Here it is all explained.

This was written by the German singer-songwriter Drafi Deutscher and his collaborators James Bilsbury and Joe Menke. Intended for Marcia Barrett solo, it went unrecorded for years until Boney M producer Frank Farian decided to do it with the group. The song continued their run of European hits, giving them their fourth #1 in Germany.
It is doubtful if this song's writers really understood the background to what became known euphemistically as "The Troubles," but if music really is the food of love, it probably did as much to stop the violence as any behind the scenes machinations by the British Government; the IRA agreed to a ceasefire in 1994.

Basically it was written by Germans who just wrote a catchy tune but did not really understand the intricacies of Northern Ireland which is not surprising as most people don't have a good understanding of it. I also doubt the song had any impact on the peace process.

It's understandable but it's not perfect. You can hear she isn't a native English speaker.

I think they were native English speakers, they're from the British West Indies.

Don't know why deciphering Boney M lyrics is so important to the OP, but I guess they make more sense than his posts.
    Spoiler!

Just a curiosity .. I was not able to understand the word following the refrain " Got to have a believin'" - IN ALL- the people...

In my ears the singer pronounces IN ALL as nola or lola or cola ..that makes NO SENSE AT ALL..
