Not true. Between age 18 to 23 I was a reasonable weight. I also lost weight again in my early 30s but I also developed auto immune disorder and Lyme disease.

At face value, you are talking about a time 20 years ago and 10 years ago. As we age, it becomes harder to stay in shape. let alone getting into shape after years of being very heavy. I hope for your sake you actually do lose the weight and keep it off. However, nothing changes if nothing changes. Maybe there are things blocking you from actually achieving your goals.
We aren't responsible for many of our issues. However, only when they are recognized can positive steps be taken to overcome them.

Also I assume you're a boomer because that's a previous mindset. In factual studies the metabolism only shinks about 1 % for each decade after 30 and T levels relatively the same rate.

Flooding a post with decades-old photos of your chubby self doesn't change a thing. If you actually get back down to that weight again, you would be in line with others in their forties.

It's fake science. People have put on muscle at 70 years old. It's harder due to general lifestyle change. The body is highly adaptable

There are always "human interest" stories that feature people in their seventies lifting weights or running marathons. If they weren't atypical, then they wouldn't be worthy of "human interest" stories.

When the possible is improbable, it is foolish to take it as an inevitability.


People should shoot for their goals, but they are not achieved until they are achieved. People are always paying the price for the delusion that they will be the exception without considering alternatives for when they are not.
