He is entirely from Northeastern Hungary (Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg counties). His haplogroups are R1a-L260 (YP1337) and H16.
His mother's (my grandmother) ancestry is majority Hungarian with some distant Rusyn ancestry. I found out about the Rusyn lineage thanks to some surname research.
His father's (my grandfather) ancestry is more mixed than my grandma's. His mother (my great-grandmother) was born in Miskolc, Hungary. She lived her whole life in this city, even though both of her parents were from Eastern Slovakia. (her father was Hungarian from Kassabéla/Kosicka Bela, while her mother was mainly Zipser German mixed with some Slavic/Slovak from Szomolnok/Smolník).
While my grandfather's father (my great-grandfather) was also born in Miskolc, Hungary and his dad or grandfather was born somewhere in Transylvania. (even though I am not sure if he was Székely-Hungarian or Romanian or maybe mixed Hungarian/Romanian). While his as far as I know "fully" Hungarian mother was born in the same city as my great-grandfather.
Overall, I would say that the genetic communities were perfect for my father. All of them make sense and all of them are quite accurate considering the known ancestry of my father. Also I am satisfied with the percentages too, maybe the Balkan % is a bit higher than expected, but it's still quite good.
