Distance is irrelevant. Those are extremely old componments, as pure as possible, and being close to them would be weird.

No problem. Karelia HG is Eastern Hunter Gatherer. Yamnaya was part EHG. There is another EHG sample from Samara (HG), but I ran some tests and Karelian one came out purer.

It´s just a different point of view, we all are used to the ancient standard model, but there are many options.

In the end it is something similar, a proto-Neolithic from Anatolia, the traditional WHG and the novelty of some components prior to the Yamanya...etc with which they could be modeled.
