They did, sadly. Many of the Moroccans fought valiantly, but Spain alongside France proved to be too much for them. The rapes, mutilation, and chemical weapons used in that war were overkill. The Rif region, to this day, still has a sizeable amount of people with cancer because of these chemical weapons being used.
