If anything Japanese anime creators insult themselves by drawing characters that don't look Japanese at all. The vast majority of people understand they aren't meant to be realistic but still think they look more White than Asian.

Yes, here in Brazil we have a relevant japanese community, then anime and other japanese cultural/entertainment contents are in brazilian culture long time. While anime culture expanded in the world only after success of Pokémon, they are present in Brazil long time before, then we lack of some conception rest of the word has, as we have our own particular perceptions and conceptions.
