Raven was the heraldic symbol of the Wallachians, although later it was transformed into an aquila.
The flag below was used by Michael the Brave around 1600 in battles against the Ottomans.
It depicts the raven on top of a juniper bush, holding a cross and a star in its beak. What they represent is not clear I'm afraid, but it's common heraldry in old Wallachia.
A mention here: Wallachian is not an ethnicity. It is just a regional identity among Romanians. When a person is born in Transylvania or Moldova from Wallachian parents (settled outside Wallachia), that person automatically gets the identity of the region where he/she was born and raised, instead of the one of his/her parents.
