    Danube Swabian symbols



    Black Eagle: auspices of Austria over the danube swabian settlements.
    Blue Line: thats the Danube
    Castle: thats Temesvár/Temeswar, symbol of the Habsurg protection against the ottomans.
    Half Moon: symbolize the battles against ottomans
    Sun: symbolize the final victory over ottomans.
    6 Tower in the Castle: symbolize the danube swabian regions like Hills of Balaton, Schwäbische Türkei (Baranya-Tolna), Slavonia, Bácska, Bánát, Szatmár-Máramaros.
    White and Green ethnic colors: symbolize the peacful life (white) and hope (green) to make the desolated land rich again.

    Interesting. I'm not yet sure how specific that is compared to the decorations from other countries but I'll try to compare. What seems uniquely Polish to me, though maybe not suitable as a generalizable symbol, is this (I'm referring to the upper square formed area):

    Turul Bird is a medieval hungarian war symbol, they often portray with Attila"s sword:



    Double Cross, symbolize the christian Hungarian Kindom:



    The Three Mountains, represents North Hungary and the Tátra, Mátra, Fátra mountains (slovaks also use it as national symbol):



    Arrow Cross is a hungarian far right (neo-nazi) symbol, represents the military skill of nomad hungarian horse archers:

    Raven was the heraldic symbol of the Wallachians, although later it was transformed into an aquila.

    The flag below was used by Michael the Brave around 1600 in battles against the Ottomans.

    It depicts the raven on top of a juniper bush, holding a cross and a star in its beak. What they represent is not clear I'm afraid, but it's common heraldry in old Wallachia.




    A mention here: Wallachian is not an ethnicity. It is just a regional identity among Romanians. When a person is born in Transylvania or Moldova from Wallachian parents (settled outside Wallachia), that person automatically gets the identity of the region where he/she was born and raised, instead of the one of his/her parents.
