Does look Iberian but really has a more eastern influence from the caucasus and iranian areas. Would be interesting if his r1a-z280 pulled through although that one is way more european leaning.
He can perfectly pass as a Kurdish uncle of mine. Do you have his DNA results perhaps?

Europe wise, he can pass in Southern France and parts of Iberia/spain.
Asia wise, can pass as Turkish, Azeri, Syrian, Palestinian, Iranian.
My guess: Turkish or Azeri that can pass in Europe too.
