Do you miss your childhood, or are you glad it's over?

I had a happy childhood, but i miss the era (70ies/80ies).

We didn't have internet, cell phones, computers ... and we were never bored!

I had a good childhood but I only miss the simplicity of life and innocence. I also liked spending time with my siblings. Otherwise I prefer my life at this moment in time. Every stage in life is a new chapter.

Innocence? That ended all too abruptly far too young. There’s no way I’d want to repeat it. My best times were when i was away from the family on holidays.

Personally, it was the one of the best periods of my life.

I had a lot of friends, people I talked to, many favourite relatives who were still alive like my uncle and grandfather...

And most importantly, the carelessness and optimism for the future.

Most of these are gone now, except the friends part.

But I do miss my relatives and the sense of optimism.

I definitely miss because it was a good time for me even though I was bullied by my sister and then at school.

I wouldn't want to go back to it because all of the things you can't do as a kid but it was still a great time, mostly growing up with my grandparents in the countryside. The long summer days, the getaways on bikes with friends in the woods, always discovering new places and meeting new people like that (teh internet was having a bike or a ball back then). I wish any kid to have this type of childhood frankly even if that wasn't so long ago in the late 90's it's probably not possible anymore.

That sounds so nice I was online as young as I could remember, because it kept me quiet and didn't make a noise or a mess like my toys did. I was never allowed outside unsupervised, and we never once had company in the home. I didn't sleep at anyone's house, and rarely did I ever visit in the daytime. Already scarcely fed, I was taking adult dosages of adderall from 8 to 12. I was so weak and sick all the time, and being screamed at daily didn't help.

The worst part is that this is normal for zoomers. My peers tell me I should be grateful that at least I wasn't beaten or molested. This is seen as a pretty baseline zoomer childhood, and only older people (or peers who grew up outside the West) see anything wrong with it.

By the way, I promise I'm not seeking pity or attention, just wanted to offer a window into what the younger generations are carrying with them into adulthood. Maybe this can help people understand why zoomers are "like that"

I miss my childhood very much, because my dad was still alive. I miss only him.
