If we stick to the original definition of it from 13th century England that leaded to the industrial revolution, then then nuclear family never was a thing for blacks Americans. They always had more out of wedlock births and like 10 times more births from unmarried women than whites, not child centered either, still extended family structures etc...and even more abortions to this day.

It's like with many other things people confuse when they bring up remote tribes supposedly not succombing to "modernity", yet displaying the highest rates of all sorts of very recent degeneracies when living in western societies. There is a big difference between looking like you resist to some ideas and actually resisting to them once spread in a society. This could even apply to some extent to eastern Europe.
