Northern hungarians are poor as well, tons of gypsy lives there (20-30% of population) and many northern hungarian adopted their lifestyle.

Borsod and Heves GDP per capita PPP is higher than Baranya which is an epicenter of Danube Swabians.

Bács Kiskun is wealthier than any county in the Danube Swabian infested Southwest Hungary, lower crime rate too.

SW Hungary has many Gypsies though, probably most after northeast if I am not mistaken.

Stears mother's home county Somogy is rather poor but has very large Gypsy concentration. I don't think Zala or Baranya are much different from what I've heard.

Doesn't Borsod and Heves have many Gypsies too? Probably more than Baranya yet Baranya GDP per capita PPP is lower than both.

Yes I think they have more. But Baranya and SW Hungary have more than Alfoldi counties if I am not mistaken.

So the poorest hungarian regions are these where gypsies live in high number: North Hungary, North Alföld, Baranya.

How is Budapest that rich? Considering Hungary's GDP per capita is still lower than Greece's in nominal terms, and only slightly higher in PPP terms.

Athens in comparison has approximately 50.000€ GDP per capita (by approximations, no statistics have been issued since 2018)
