Where did you get this bizzare idea that Walloons are Germanic?

Difference between Walloons and Frisian people from the Northern NL is like night and day.

Because Walloons are germanic? (I mean celto-germanic, quite pan western euro actually) how is that bizarre?
Frisians are not the benchmark of being Germanic, the difference between southern Dutch/Flemish (Franks) and Frisians (Saxon) is also night and day
Compare Bavarians and Frisians and it's like they are two different race of people, yet both are Germanic.

There was a massive immigration from northern France to Flanders in the 16th/17th century, and their names became "dutchified"; and flemings went north and became hollanders.
It was common back then to have a french name and dutch name (jean/jan, roger van der weyden/de la pasture etc...); during the dutch golden age, dutchification of names was common.

Never heard of such a migration.

What caused such a huge immigration that did even cross the border of the HRE then? I know of the huge emigration in the following context: https://www.lastdodo.de/de/items/572...-en-brabanders Maybe that was connected then. This was caused by the Spaniards, I think.

why? walloons are not french, never been, only the language is french

To us Germans all traditional French speakers are French per definition (not Bretons, Germans and Basques that became French speaking lately). To my understanding Walloons have spoken French "ever since".

They are french.

Yes, they are simply a subgroup of French that was inside the HRE corresponding to a thing like the Dutch at Dünkirchen / Dunkerk that were outside the HRE. Doesn't make them a very special thing.
