The West's foundation lies in classical Greece and classical Rome. The Byzantines were cut off from the rest of Europe due to the Schism, and then fell to the Ottomans. I find it amazing that you think that Greece, essentially, isn't part of the wider Western, European civilisation. Been drinking too much of Moscow's kool aid, no ?
Of course, the Russians spread such theories there, as they want to dig under NATO's collective security by gaining access to the Med via the Aegean Sea and the Bosphorus, so they are able to cut off Europe from the Suez Canal.
Wake up and smell the coffee.

What Russian cool-aid, what are you on about.
No one was cut off ... the Orthodox Church is the original Church of Christ, you must be confusing your facts.
As for the West having its origin in ancient Greece, that's the Western narrative's problem not ours.
We have our own evolution and identity for the past 1000+ years, thank you, we do not care for what the 'West' thinks of us or what we should be.
Peace.

You just need to do your homework.
Answer yourself this question, 'who' is 'enlightened' by 'whom' against 'who'.
Like I said, your western historical evolution of 'reform' and 'enlightenment' against the word of God is of no concern to me, you made your bed now you lie in it.

What do you consider ‘Western’ first of all, only Western Europe? If Greece is Western then so is Turkey, Eastern Europe and the rest of the Balkans lol.
Modern Greece is not Western in the same way France, England or Germany are. Western Civilization technically started with the Renaissance. Although the ancient Greeks did indeed shape the Renaissance, they were not involved with Western Europe by that time. In other words, during the true cultural divide between the two Europe’s, Greeks were included within the eastern half and absorbed or actually even shaped the general Balkan/Anatolian culture…
