"...the Moors and Christians festival consists of a popular theatre performance that complements the liturgical ritual of the celebrations of reinforcement of community ties, expressing the combat between the side of the heroes - the Christians - and the enemies - the Moors - for the possession of a collective good, by means of actions and speeches, although words can be dispensed with".

The Fallas of Valencia (Falles in Valencian) are a festival that runs from the 14th (plantà infantil) to the 19th (cremá) of March with a deep-rooted tradition in the Spanish city of Valencia and different towns in the Valencian Community. Officially they begin on the last Sunday of February with the act of the crida (in Valencian; 'pregón or call', in Spanish).
