That still would leave a huge chunk they wouldn't understand. Also, some Italians can have a snobbish disdain towards other Latin (language) ethnicities, the rival website to this one being but a particularly extreme example..

There is a high level of mutual intelligibility between Portuguese and Spanish, but it doesn't happen between those languages and Italian/French/Romanian. Totally different (despite the latters also being of latin origin as well).
