When I was little I didn't understand all these things (with the Germans), and maybe even today I don't understand them very well (but I understand them better than in the past).

To understand the Germans, imagine that they are people who come from the same ancestors as other ethnicities.

Instead, the differences appear when in another country, only 50% of people do their job properly, while in Germany 75% of people do their job properly.

It can be even easier to understand, if you imagine 200 people who are divided into 2 teams (the blue shirt and the red shirt), of 100/200 people.

Group A) Has 50 people who do not train at all.
Group B) Has 10 people who do not train at all.

Group A) Has 150 people doing 100 push-ups a day.
Group B) Has 190 people doing 100 push-ups a day.

This is what happens with the Germans compared to other countries.

They also have lazy people, but in smaller percentages.
And it doesn't mean that other ethnic groups don't have people who work and study as much as the Germans, only that fewer people do that.

For this reason, the Germans are better at what you said (technology, innovation, science). But in a running competition, the people on the 8th place can surprisingly reach the 1st place, through a boost, so the Germans can be defeated. Now, I don't know if the Germans are on the 1st place, sometimes they drop to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th place, then they recover.
