Default Why Spain is turning into a desert

The UN estimates that 74 percent of Spain is in the process of desertification. The regions Almeria, Valencia, and Andalusia are the most vulnerable. If left unchecked, by 2100, most of the southern half of Spain will be desert.

Italy is endangered too, it's an endemic problem throughout Southern Europe.

    Average annual rainfall in Italy..

The green arrow indicates the least rainy area of Italy.

Is it in the coastal area where the major rivers of northern Italy flow... therefore it is humid and full of water without the need for rain.

I don't know why the least rainy area of Italy is precisely in that place..

This is Calabria in summer ( the deep south of Italian penisula )

    and winter

And this is where i live ( Asiago- Veneto )

Sensationalism, I've been a few days off and I've enjoyed some wonderful rainy days that I like so much.

I love travelling around Andalusia with these rainstorms.

According to oral family tradition E-FT155550 comes from a deserter of Napoleon's troops (1808-1813) who stayed in Spain and changed his surname.

I saw this particular program from the province of Almeria and it's a girl who has already planted 1000 trees. According to him, it is an area full of forests like the rest of the Iberian Peninsula, but it was deserted of trees due to the felling for the manufacture of the boats of La Armada Imbencible and it was not repopulated, so the producer built a nursery for she, since each tree cost him 3€ and she and a few volunteers could not afford the large-scale reforestation. Now with the Viver it will be easier and cheaper for them.

Really? Do you know the Accona desert?

This is Calabria in summer ( the deep south of Italian penisula )

And this is where i live ( Asiago- Veneto )

    Sierra de Grazalema, Cadiz:

    Sierra Nevada, Granada:

    La Alpujarra, Granada and Almería:

    Sierra de las Nieves, Malaga:

    Sierra de Aracena, Huelva:

    Sierra España, Murcia:

All of these sites are precisely in South Spain, the driest area of Spain; Imagine what there must be in Central and North Spain.

"Casually" Italy has 871 protected natural áreas... and Spain 10 more, 881.
