Congrats, know how hard quitting the cigs can be.
I started at 18, quit at 52 after my dad got diagnosed with lung cancer, which did take his life.
He made it to his 75th birthday, 15 years after quitting.
From my mid 20's to my late 40's, smoked 2 - 3 packs of 20 a day.
Tapered down to about 2 packs a week by the end.
I think the smoking is part of the reason I developed pancreatic cancer.
I had successful surgery in June 2015, which was followed by chemo.
No signs of cancer since the conclusion of the treatment.

Congrats Loki!
I quit smoking last month, more precisely on November 16. My motivation to quite was death of Žarko Laušević (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Žarko_Laušević) who died of lung cancer caused by smoking. I was not serious smoker, on average i smoked 4-5 cigars a day. Exceptions were when i go to the pub, bar, club etc, or when i am on vacation at sea or something, then i smoked more than usual.

During my high school years, I was a social smoker for a short period of time. One time I bought a pack of cigarettes with my money and my parents found out about it. They made me quit before I actually started smoking. Congrats Loki.
I started smoking at 11 and quit at 27 when I saw personally what lung cancer does to someone. I've not had a single puff in over 10 years. I just quit on the day and have never looked back.

Thank you, congratulations to you too!
The first few days were a bit tricky... especially the habit of opening the window, handling the cigarette and lighting it. But everytime I was tempted with those thoughts, I focused on the Lord who gave me strength to overcome.
I'm already feeling better health-wise now, after a month and a half, and I don't think of smoking anymore. It's as if I've never had a habit, a distant memory.
On the flipside of things... I've been eating more food and snacks, a really bad idea! I should have followed the inner voice that told me to go on a fast at the same time as quitting. But I didn't. Now, 10 kilograms later....I need to make an intervention.

Congrats on quitting smoking Loki. Keep it up, and imagine all saved money you will have, plus better health, no bad breath/smell etc
I quit smoking recently, and some weight gain like you mention is normal. Don't let that discourage you. You will sort it out.
This summer I drank, partied and smoked like crazy and lost 8 kilograms without even needing that. Quit smoking totally, drinking almost entirely and go out rarely, and I gained back 4 kilograms so far.
