I'd have those feelings if I'd be a Russian. But why as a Dutch or a German? I can approach Russia without any claim regarding its internal conditions. It's up to the Russians to form their country.
March 1918? Do you think of the March offensive towards Paris that likely would have made the Central Powers win the war if not the USA would have sent about 1 million fresh men to defend Paris?

Refering to the March Revolution of 1917. The first revolution. My mistake. I was doing two things at the same time. And, yes, Europe needs Russia (the Eastern border moves to China and North Korea and with all the knowhow and resources a fully united Europe including Russia would be a world power, free from U.S and Chinese interference) as much as Russia needs Europe (having no Western frontier that is potentially troublesome, thus allowing her to develop into all it could be: A European version of the U.S with an extremely strong industrial, technological, scientific, educational and agricultural base, no paranoia towards all things foreign, thus allowing for greater civil and political liberties and more investments into a higher standard living, one that would also spur on population growth as Russia is FAR below its carrying capacity). A Europe with a Russia that met its full potential as a democratic society, could easily outnumber China in terms of population. Let that sink in!
But we don't need this Russia that exists now. Then even the Americans are the better option.
Wake up and smell the coffee.

Yeah but "rooting for others" against their will or at least against the will of many of them is what is going on around the world and that I'd call mingeling in and being disrespectful. Why should an European tell how the society in Saudi Arabia, Iran or China shall be organised?
