All Japan (and the rest of the world) needs is time. The US will at some point lose its hegemony as a consequence of all the "progressive" politics and ethnic changes they're experiencing, while Japan will keep its identity.

Russia has threatened neighbors (including NATO states) with a nuclear first strike almost on a daily basis, and so USA cannot have a no first use nuclear policy.

That said I am for a complete nuclear disarmament, but it's obvious this is not going to happen with so many bad faith actors, such as Russia.

Besides, I don't believe anything China says. Assurances from China are like assurances from Russia before the invasion of Ukraine - they're worthless, but good enough for useful idiots who spread their propaganda.
