The broader purpose of this war is to break up and destabilize Russia so that China can’t have access to their extremely rich resources. Then, the US can fully encircle China with military bases and strangle them until they fully collapse and are replaced with leaders that capitulate to Western interests.

The war also has the short term benefits of cutting Western Europe off from cheap Russia energy in order to limit the competitiveness of the Euro and also euro buying expensive American gas, strengthening and enlarging a US-dominated NATO, forcing allies to clear out their old weapon supplies so they have to purchase new arms from the US, and testing fifth generation military technology in preparation for a future conflict with China.
