I don't recall Jesus being born in the fall in the Gospel of Luke, but maybe I missed something;
also the Winter Solstice (official start of winter) is about December 21.
Christmas and Saturnalia are coincidentally around the same time;
Christmas was a minor/unofficial holiday for the early Christians,
the exact date is unknown and irrelevant (birthdays were a pagan thing).
Christmas is 9 months after the more important date of the Annunciation (about March 25 according to Luke 1:26),
again the exact date of the Annunciation/conception by God is irrelevant,
the more important date is the movable date of Easter and the fixed date of baptism/Epiphany
