It derives from González with Z, from what I have read it is rather due to a topographical error of transcription in baptismal letters e.t.c. and it begins to occur from the discovery of America in Peru where there are even cases of Gonsales, it also happened in Andalusia in the areas where the S is not pronounced and seseo is practiced.
