Possibly to prove that Spain isn't as 'different' from most of Europe as some people assume? Because even Germans can have quite dark types.

Some of them can. In fact, while it is certainly true that Germans are blonder than Brits as a whole, their darker types if anything tend to look more genuinely Southern European than most darker Brits do.

Some though darker types that are influenced by faelid, borreby etc and have lighter eyes don't pass more southern than Hungary generally.
